Het geheel van wettelijke regels dat huurders beschermt tegen onterechte huuropzegging. In Nederland kan een verhuurder de huur niet zomaar opzeggen; daar zijn wettelijke gronden voor nodig. Huurbescherming geldt volledig bij contracten voor onbepaalde tijd.

The set of legal rules protecting tenants against unjustified lease termination. In the Netherlands a landlord cannot simply terminate a lease; legal grounds are required. Full tenant protection applies to indefinite-term contracts.
